About the position

The Practice Leader is responsible for leading a healthcare practice by collaborating with surgeons and the Regional Director of Operations to ensure a successful and engaged team. This role involves fostering relationships, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the practice by partnering with surgeons and support services to establish and maintain a successful practice.
  • Foster strong relationships with surgeons, team members, and support services; actively address practice needs and resolve concerns.
  • Lead the practice in attaining operational levels that optimize productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Understand business responsibilities and key performance metrics for managing the practice, including financial audits and budget expectations.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service with referrals and patients, assisting surgeons in resolving patient needs and concerns.
  • Lead by example with Servant Leadership; partner with HR to develop and deliver performance evaluations for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, including OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
  • Organize monthly meetings with surgeons to discuss practice performance and resolve concerns.
  • Monitor collections processes and maintain accounts receivable within target levels.
  • Support improvements to patient flow and effectively schedule staff to maximize budgeted payroll hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience with direct customer contact in a healthcare practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Independent decision-making skills and sound judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial management and budgeting in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of dental or oral surgery practices.
