About the position

The Practice Manager for Digital Government at the World Bank Group is responsible for leading a team to advance digital transformation initiatives in client countries. This role involves managing a diverse team, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and fostering partnerships to enhance digital government services. The Practice Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that address complex development challenges, while also focusing on knowledge management and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 15-20 staff to deliver strategic priorities and manage the quality of work programs and deliverables.
  • Provide evidence-based analytical insights to clients to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a balanced portfolio of innovative, cost-effective products and services.
  • Collaborate with other PMs and regional teams to find tailored digital solutions for development challenges.
  • Create partnerships with donors, private sector leaders, and academic institutions in the digital space.
  • Model exemplary leadership values and drive technical excellence within the team.
  • Mentor staff and ensure they are well connected with the team.
  • Respond to global and regional challenges in the Digital Transformation area and contribute to the global dialogue.
  • Strengthen partnerships with private sector and development partners active in digital.
  • Manage resources within budget constraints and ensure timely delivery of outputs.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in digital technology/sciences, public policy, private sector development, economics, laws, technology, or a relevant field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility.
  • Excellent technical skills in digital government and understanding of public administration systems.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing multi-cultural and virtual teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing dialogue and policy on digital infrastructure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
