About the position

The Practice Manager for General Surgery at Southcoast Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of ambulatory practice locations, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care. This role involves managing appointment scheduling, registration, referral management, and staff assignments, while also handling budget and compliance matters. The Practice Manager plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of well-being and inclusivity within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient flow and daily operations of ambulatory practice locations with FTE of 1 to 24, including providers.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling, registration, referral management, and authorization processes.
  • Handle staff assignments, budget management, and revenue compliance.
  • Ensure effective communication and quality project management within the practice.

Requirements

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Associates degree is preferred.
  • More than three years of experience in a medical office practice is required.
  • At least three years of supervisory/leadership experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred.
  • Certification in Physician Practice Management is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and provide strong customer service is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are required.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and previous Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • EPIC experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a surgical practice with in-office procedures is preferred.
