About the position

The Practice Manager II for Multi-Specialty Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is responsible for overseeing the operations, staff management, and financial performance of the practice. This role involves assessing and improving daily operations, ensuring high levels of patient and staff satisfaction, and collaborating with the Regional Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Directors to enhance clinical and technical operations. The position also focuses on expanding market share and maintaining quality care within the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff, operations, budgets, and patient access.
  • Assess current physician practice and daily operations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with the Regional Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Directors to develop plans for market expansion and quality care.
  • Monitor financial performance to meet or exceed budgeted targets.
  • Assess and revise staffing and skill mix for the practice.
  • Adjust exam and procedural room assignments to maximize efficiency.
  • Make final decisions on staff hires in collaboration with HR and ambulatory leadership.
  • Oversee the usage and working order of stock supplies.
  • Evaluate triage operations for accessibility and efficiency.
  • Assess front desk operations for accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of job-related/clinic experience.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Nursing Administration.
  • Ambulatory quality improvement (QI) experience.
  • 3+ years of clinic management experience.
  • Experience managing budget, purchasing, and/or accounting.
  • Experience in use of registry data and quality systems.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
  • Certified Medical Practice Executive (CPME).
  • Registered Nurse (RN), State of Colorado.
