About the position

The Medical Receptionist position at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a part-time role located at CHA Cambridge Hospital, specifically within the Radiology Administration department. The primary focus of this role is to provide exceptional administrative support to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care in an efficient and timely manner. The Radiology Department is dedicated to being accessible and sensitive to patients' comfort, safety, and dignity while delivering its services. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that are crucial for the smooth operation of the department. These tasks include handling all incoming calls with courtesy and professionalism, registering patients, and scheduling appointments using the Epic system. You will also be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility through the PASSPORT system, maintaining both paper and electronic medical records, and collecting, processing, and reconciling co-pays. Additionally, you will provide financial support by processing charges, reconciling daily receipts, and identifying and correcting billing errors. Your role will also involve assisting direct patient care providers with both electronic and paper correspondence, participating in a planned care team, attending departmental meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service and attention to detail, as you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • One year of experience working in an outpatient medical setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole preferred.
  • Experience working on a Planned Care Team preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail are required.
