About the position

The Practice Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a medical practice. This position involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to enhance the patient experience by streamlining processes and procedures. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with billing and insurance claims.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the medical service line (Emergency Department, Hospitalist, and/or Intensivist).
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with billing and insurance claims.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Assist with provider scheduling and onboarding of new providers.
  • Work closely with facility medical director, regional corporate leadership, and Sr. Practice Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in medical practice operations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding.
  • Experience with Epic, Meditech or other electronic medical records systems.
