About the position

The Technical Operations Manager (TFM) of PracticePoint is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all aspects of the facility to support research and development in medical technology. This role involves collaborating with staff to maintain and upgrade facilities, participating in research activities, and ensuring the safe operation of sophisticated equipment such as MRI machines and surgical lasers. The TFM will also engage in outreach to identify new members and users of the facility, contributing to its sustainable success.

Responsibilities

  • Research potential members and conduct facility tours.
  • Plan clients' use of the facilities and participate in financial arrangements.
  • Work with members and users to maximize the effectiveness of facility use.
  • Facilitate collaborations between clients and WPI faculty and students.
  • Maintain oversight of facility maintenance and upgrades.
  • Manage access to all areas of the facility.
  • Oversee facility scheduling and charge rates with the Business Manager.
  • Obtain and maintain training credentials for operating PracticePoint equipment.
  • Oversee the delivery and use of hazardous materials and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety Office and relevant committees.

Requirements

  • Graduate Degree
  • 1 or more years' hands-on experience with MRI operations
  • 2 or more years' experience in a similar role
