About the position

The Pre Admissions Nurse at USPI Northwest Surgery Center is responsible for providing safe and efficient patient care throughout the pre-admission process for outpatient surgical procedures. This role involves teamwork and coordination of nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The nurse must be sensitive to the unique needs of patients across all age groups and ensure high standards of nursing excellence and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing care and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Collect and analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
  • Identify expected outcomes and develop a plan of care.
  • Implement interventions identified in the plan of care and evaluate patient progress.
  • Document the nursing process and patient care activities.
  • Provide care sensitive to the age-specific needs of patients from infancy to geriatrics.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, and openness to change.
  • Strong knowledge base related to surgical procedures and management of surgical patients.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
  • Excellent teaching skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.
