About the position

Nellie's Treehouse is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Co-Lead Teacher to join our team and make a significant difference in the lives of children. This full-time position is focused on our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs, catering to children aged four and five years old. As a Co-Lead Teacher, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing curriculum plans that are age-appropriate and engaging. You will provide instruction and supervision, ensuring that each child is nurtured in a developmentally appropriate manner. Your responsibilities will include interacting with children to foster their growth, assuring their safety, and performing regular observations and assessments to track their development. In this role, you will also supervise Associate and Assistant Teachers, guiding them in their interactions with the children and ensuring a cohesive teaching environment. Building strong home-school bonds with parents is essential, and you will utilize tools like Brightwheel to keep parents informed and engaged in their child's daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate's Degree with a focus on child growth and development, knowledge of New Hampshire Child Care Licensing rules, and prior experience working with young children. A commitment to providing a nurturing environment through developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior interventions is crucial. Additionally, you must have CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain these within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans for Pre-K and Kindergarten.
  • Provide age-appropriate instruction and supervision to children.
  • Interact with children in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Ensure the supervision and safety of children at all times.
  • Perform child observations and assessments to track development.
  • Supervise Associate and Assistant Teachers in their roles.
  • Create strong home-school bonds with parents and families.
  • Utilize Brightwheel to engage and inform parents about their child's day.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree including 3 credits in child growth and development.
  • Knowledge of NH Child Care Licensing rules.
  • Prior experience working with young children.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior interventions.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to achieve within the first 90 days.
