About the position

The CREC Reggio Magnet School of the Arts is seeking a dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for a full-time, 10-month certified position. The role focuses on planning and delivering effective instruction and assessment of student learning, aligned with the Danielson Framework and CREC Essential Skills. The teacher will create a conducive classroom environment, develop innovative lesson plans, and engage in ongoing assessment to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective instruction and assessment of student learning.
• Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment conducive to student success.
• Design and implement personalized instruction.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that promote deeper learning.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and modify instructional methods as needed.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping, grading, and reporting for student activities and attendance.
• Facilitate family involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior according to school policies.
• Collaborate effectively with staff and participate in meetings and workshops.

Requirements

• Connecticut State Certification in education.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
• Master's degree in a related area preferred.

• Familiarity with district, state, and national standardized assessments.
