About the position

The Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Houston Gateway Academy, Inc. is responsible for providing high-quality education to young scholars in a dual language program. Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in a dual language setting (English and Spanish).
• Utilize assessment data to modify lesson plans and promote student academic performance.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams to enhance critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and families.
• Participate in daily school functions, including supervisory duties during morning, lunch, and afternoon.
• Attend school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families.
• Embrace feedback for continuous improvement in teaching practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Texas Standard Teaching Certificate: EC-6th.
• Demonstrated knowledge of core subject areas assigned.
• Satisfactory outcome of a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a dual language program.
• Familiarity with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
• Background in early childhood education.
