About the position

The Pre-kindergarten Teaching Assistant/Aide at St. Anthony - St. Paul School is responsible for supporting the educational and developmental needs of young children in a nurturing and safe environment. This part-time position involves working closely with the classroom teacher to provide guidance, assistance, and support to students, ensuring a positive learning experience. The role includes participation in professional development and collaboration with parents and school staff to foster a supportive community for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with an age-appropriate nurturing, safe, and healthy environment.
• Assist with self-care and self-regulation of individual students as necessary.
• Support whole group, small group, and individual child learning in a center-based classroom using Creative Curriculum and/or Prekindergarten Units of Instruction.
• Assist the teacher with assessment and maintain updated student profiles.
• Participate in select professional development sessions.
• Implement positive behavior guidance and support for all children in collaboration with school and regional support staff.
• Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality, and dignity.
• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and school leadership to engage and support parents.
• Support and maintain positive partnerships within the school building.
• Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in early childhood education (preferred).
• Ability to relocate to Valley Cottage, NY 10989 before starting work.
