About the position

The Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Assistant at Metro Catholic School plays a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher and enhancing the educational experience of young students. Responsibilities

  • Supporting the lead teacher in developing a positive and structured classroom environment that engages students and motivates them to succeed
  • Assuming responsibility for the academic progress of students with a high sense of urgency and ownership towards quantifiable results
  • Working with students in small groups and one-on-one settings
  • Fulfilling the school's mission to educate the whole child, mind, body, and spirit
  • Taking accountability for student learning and for meeting classroom performance goals
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of and familiarity with New York State educational standards and requirements
  • Participating in on-going professional developments sessions to grow as an educator

Requirements

  • High school degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least one year of experience in childcare preferred
  • Respect for and appreciation of the Catholic faith and Catholic education
  • Must pass a background check
