About the position

The Pre-Law Program Manager at Baylor University plays a crucial role in preparing undergraduate students for law school. This position involves advising students, teaching relevant courses, and promoting the Pre-Law Program. The manager will engage with students through various programming, assist with law school applications, and supervise law students who provide additional support. The role is integral to the mission of the Office of Undergraduate Success within the Paul L. Foster Success Center.

Responsibilities

  • Advising current and prospective Pre-Law students
  • Teaching first-year and upper-level classes (STL 1101 and STL 1102)
  • Helping students understand the legal profession and preparing them for law school applications
  • Recruiting and networking with alumni, local attorneys, and prospective students
  • Promoting the Pre-Law Program through social media and events
  • Engaging with current students through regular programming and hosting LSAT prep events
  • Serving as faculty sponsor for the Pre-Law Society (PLS)
  • Tracking pre-law student statistics
  • Supervising law students who assist with advice on law school readiness and applications
  • Performing all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice-to-haves

  • Juris Doctor Degree (JD)
