About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during the recovery phase.
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage pain control protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions from the operating room to the PACU.
• Assess patients for any complications or adverse reactions post-anesthesia.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding recovery processes.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with health regulations.

Requirements

• Valid RN License
• Valid BLS Certification
• Proficient in OR procedures, triage, and hospital protocols.
• Experience in primary care, assisted living, geriatrics, or dementia care is highly valued.
• Knowledge of suture techniques and sonography is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to perform health coaching to guide patients through recovery.
• Critical thinking skills to assess patient needs swiftly and accurately.
• Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on comfort and safety.
