About the position

The Pre-Release Program Coordinator at Turn90 plays a crucial role in facilitating impactful programming for incarcerated individuals in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC). This position involves managing the pre-release program at Lieber Prison and expanding Turn90's initiatives within other SC prisons. The coordinator will oversee volunteer management, enhance program resources, and develop strategies to support successful reentry for individuals post-release.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Turn90's pre-release program activities at Lieber Prison and/or other SCDC facilities.
  • Work closely with SCDC staff to deliver a structured reentry curriculum, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and vocational training.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support the program's curriculum in job skills, educational support, and financial literacy.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Turn90 and SCDC staff, maintaining strong relationships for collaborative program delivery.
  • Participate in reentry discharge planning meetings and collaborate with community organizations to connect participants with necessary resources.
  • Identify and secure resources to enhance the pre-release program, including grants and educational tools.
  • Lead efforts to improve the environmental design of reentry dorms to create a supportive space for participants.
  • Increase enrollment in Turn90's Centers by developing relationships with men being released from prison and connecting them to services.
  • Track key performance indicators and collaborate with evaluators to refine program delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, volunteer management, or project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems.
