About the position

The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (PSE) plays a crucial role in Quantum's pre-sales operations by providing technical solution selling, conducting technical presentations, and designing solutions that meet both technical and business requirements. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with customers and partners, particularly in the context of Quantum's AI-driven solutions, ensuring that these solutions align with client needs and integrate seamlessly into existing business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI technologies to enhance solution designs and meet customer business needs.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and strong presentation abilities to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Provide technical expertise to sales staff, partners, and customers through presentations and discussions, particularly on AI-based solutions.
  • Deliver effective technical presentations on all aspects of Quantum's solutions, emphasizing AI capabilities.
  • Respond to technical questions from customers and the Quantum Sales Team regarding current and future products, especially those involving AI.
  • Identify and document customer functional and non-functional requirements for system design, including AI model integration.
  • Translate technical and business requirements into clear architecture and solution design documents, including AI model integration strategies.
  • Provide comprehensive solution and design details, acting as a product SME to identify and qualify business opportunities in AI and data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop proof of concept or implementation solution plans, particularly involving AI.
  • Assist in closing business by securing technical recommendations through solution presentations and evaluations, focusing on AI-driven products.
  • Provide technical input and support to the Sales Team for large RFIs or RFPs requiring AI-related expertise.
  • Work with the Sales Team using a consultative approach to identify customer business needs and develop enterprise solutions, including AI enhancements.
  • Function as an active member of the Quantum Sales Team, overcoming technical barriers to sales, particularly in AI-related areas.

Requirements

  • Mastery of the consultative sales process with pre-sales design and implementation expertise in complex shared storage environments, including AI integration.
  • Strong skills in storage technologies (e.g., S3, NFS, Cloud, NAS, SAN, DAS) and AI-related technologies (e.g., AI infrastructures, machine learning frameworks).
  • Strong knowledge of media and entertainment workflows and AI applications within these industries.
  • Understanding of market trends in AI and the ability to identify associated solutions.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, particularly in communicating AI solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, including evaluation, design, development, and analysis, with experience in managing AI integration projects.
  • Understanding of IT governance frameworks and knowledge of AI ethics and governance.
  • Strong customer relations skills and understanding of the sales cycle in AI-driven scenarios.
  • Working knowledge of MAC, UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and AI/ML hardware/software certifications is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with evidence of personal and professional energy in AI-related tasks.
  • Experience performing needs assessments and proofs of concept involving AI.
