About the position
The Precast Drafter position at Systematic Business Consulting involves creating and reviewing shop drawings and production drawings for precast concrete manufacturing. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, along with a solid understanding of civil engineering principles and building codes. The drafter will support the drafting department by preparing design layouts, budget estimates, and approval drawings, ensuring compliance with design guidelines and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD skills to create preliminary design layouts and budget estimates.
- Prepare approval drawings following design guidelines and drafting procedures.
- Review civil engineering plans to complete preliminary designs with general design criteria.
- Provide a detailed set of approval drawings indicating all pipe connections, access openings, and other design features.
Requirements
- 2+ years of drafting experience in precast concrete.
- 2+ years working with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering (preferred).
- Working knowledge of how to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings.
- Ability to read civil engineering specifications and design plans.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and understanding of various building codes and design standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, PCI.
