About the position

The Prelitigation Paralegal at Brandon J. Broderick is responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury cases from intake until the case goes to litigation. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Pennsylvania personal injury law and will be committed to providing exceptional customer service while handling a high volume of detail-oriented work.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 100-120 personal injury cases from intake until the case goes to litigation.
• Conduct 30-day calls with clients regarding medical care and treatment status.
• Independently review cases and conduct investigations for unsuccessful initial claims.
• Open claims with insurance companies and manage No-Fault and Bodily Injury claims as required.
• File claims and manage deadlines related to No-Fault applications.
• Process lost wage claims and retrieve police reports as needed.
• Understand personal injury threshold and Motor Vehicle Indemnification Corp procedures.
• Set up property damage claims and obtain property deeds.
• Conduct corporate business searches for premises liability claims.
• Handle OPRA & FOIL requests and understand Personal Injury Statutes of Limitations in PA.
• Accurately enter information in the Litify database regarding medical facilities and insurance info.
• Document outstanding liens, including medical and worker's compensation liens.
• Update and maintain client information in the Litify database.

Requirements

• 3-8 years of experience in personal injury and pre-litigation law.
• Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle large and complex caseloads.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Litify database management.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania personal injury law and procedures.
