About the position

As a Premier Banking Portfolio Manager, your primary responsibility will be to foster and maintain strong relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service through our GUEST model. This role is pivotal in customizing and building an account team tailored to the unique needs of each client, ensuring consistent communication and support throughout their banking experience. You will be expected to utilize business leads to cultivate relationships, enhancing your understanding of client needs while furthering our business objectives. Building key partnerships with branch colleagues is essential, and you will participate in referral calls to strengthen these connections. Additionally, you will be responsible for cultivating a referral pipeline, providing ongoing education about our offerings, and keeping clients informed of any changes relevant to their accounts. Your role will also involve working with campaign leads to set appointments with clients and strategically planning contact timing to ensure timely responsiveness to customer interactions through our CONNECT application. You will process fraud alerts as necessary and perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and the satisfaction of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain continuous relationships with an assigned client portfolio.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service using the GUEST model.
  • Customize and build an account team around the needs of each client situation.
  • Utilize business leads to cultivate relationships and broaden knowledge of clients.
  • Build key partnerships with branch colleagues by participating in referral calls.
  • Cultivate a referral pipeline as appropriate.
  • Provide continuous education on offerings and changes within the assigned market.
  • Work campaign leads to set appointments with clients and strategically plan contact timing.
  • Ensure timely responsiveness to customer interactions within the CONNECT application.
  • Process fraud alerts as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of retail banking and/or financial services experience required.
  • Intermediate understanding of banking policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of investment acumen.
  • Ability to manage approval authority.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria.
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
