About the position

As a Premium Sales Manager with General Cigars Company, you will be responsible for increasing sales in respective accounts, calling prospective customers, establishing buying cycles, and creating a customer/supplier relationship with retail stores, night clubs, high-end restaurants, country clubs, casinos, and more. You will manage existing business accounts utilizing effective call strategies, conceptual selling, creative problem solving, promotional planning, and merchandising. Additionally, you will develop business partnerships with all classes of trade to promote our market leadership and secure proper distribution with all channels of trade. Your role will also involve arranging, managing, and participating in brand-building events in coordination with the Events Marketing team, managing and maintaining records, files, and reports, and operating within the assigned budget. You will prepare sales information for customers, establish buying influences, budgets, and purchasing criteria for assigned accounts, and secure and place orders while considering delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment. Other duties may become necessary as the role evolves.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Business degree preferred)
  • Prior B2B sales experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG)
  • Experience with luxury/premium CPG preferred
  • Basic consultative sales skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and closing ability
  • Strong planning and analysis skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to use tablet computer, smartphone, and accessories
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend at the waist, squat, and occasionally lift/carry up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Overnight travel will be required
  • Satisfactory driving record is required
  • Comfortable with exposure to cigar smoking
  • Excellent time management
