About the position

The Prep Cook at McAlister's Deli is responsible for assisting in food preparation and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in delivering high-quality food to customers while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables and measuring ingredients.
• Cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
