About the position

The Prep Cook at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission plays a vital role in the Nutrition Services team, responsible for preparing food items according to daily menus and standardized recipes. This position emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to food safety standards, contributing to the overall mission of providing whole-person care to the community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items as determined by daily menus following standardized recipes.
• Assist in cooking or finishing recipes or products as needed.
• Perform duties associated with the preparation of cold foods for tray line, Harvest Kitchen, and catering.
• Conduct ingredient prep duties, gathering items in the correct quantities for recipes.
• Accurately document food usage and manage resources appropriately.
• Perform area sanitation tasks, including cleaning cooking equipment and work stations.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of position-related experience.
• Experience in quantity food preparation and production.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years of position-related experience preferred.
• Experience with food prep and production in the hospitality industry preferred.
