About the position

The Prep Cook at The Dunlin plays a crucial role in the kitchen by preparing food items according to established recipes and standards. This position requires a friendly and dedicated individual who is passionate about food and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and ensure compliance with health regulations while executing prep tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes, portion controls, pars, and presentation specifics as set by kitchen management
  • Set up work station according to established expectations
  • Execute prep tasks from start to finish
  • Work collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
  • Maintain cleanliness of all BOH work areas, including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Follow set schedule and give appropriate notification for tardiness and absence
  • Conform to Department of Health requirements to run an A-level kitchen

Requirements

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking
  • Full availability (including weekends)
  • Prior experience in a hotel, preferred
