About the position

The position involves performing all duties related to dishwashing and maintaining the general cleanliness of the kitchen area at Whole Foods Market. This role is essential in ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. All tasks must be executed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Team Members are expected to be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions, striving to support Whole Foods Market's core values and goals. This includes promoting national, regional, and store programs and initiatives while ensuring adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department. The responsibilities of this position include washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares. Team Members must maintain the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area. They will assist with kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage, organization, and rotation of products. Punctuality is crucial, as Team Members are expected to arrive at their work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work. They must work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings. Excellent customer service is a priority, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner while modeling suggestive selling techniques. Team Members will maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products. Compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, is mandatory. Maintaining a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment is essential, as is ensuring equipment is maintained according to Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards. Team Members will perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing, and must immediately report safety hazards and violations. Other duties may be assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares.
  • Maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area.
  • Assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products.
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
