About the position

The Presales System Engineer Internship at Motorola Solutions offers students the opportunity to assist Systems Engineers in designing and implementing mission-critical communication systems for public safety. Interns will engage in various project assignments, gradually taking on more responsibilities, with the goal of preparing them for full-time positions upon graduation. This role involves consulting with customers to understand their requirements, developing technical strategies, and providing support throughout the pre-sales phase of projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Systems Engineers in all aspects of their work.
• Engage in small project assignments and gradually take on larger projects.
• Consult with customers to determine their requirements for communication solutions.
• Develop technical strategies and generate proposals for customers.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies.
• Provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase of projects.
• Conduct coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, and interference analysis.
• Design system architecture and equipment selection for proposed solutions.
• Present proposed solutions to customers and support implementation planning.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree with a graduation date on or after December 2025.
• Preferred emphasis in Wireless, Electrical, System or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with customers is desirable.
• Experience/Knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking is desirable.
• Experience/Knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP) is desirable.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM is desirable.
