About the position
The Preschool 2's Teacher at LeafSpring School is responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of children aged 2 to 2.5 years. This role involves planning, implementing, and supervising daily programs that align with the school's educational philosophy, focusing on age-appropriate growth and development. The position emphasizes creating a fun and caring environment for both children and staff, with a commitment to professional development and community support.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a primary care group of up to 8 children aged 2 to 2.5 years.
- Plan, implement, and supervise the daily program according to the philosophy of LeafSpring School.
- Incorporate principles of age-appropriate growth and development in daily lesson plans.
- Complete the Virginia Preservice Training (10 hr training) prior to beginning orientation if hired.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 6+ months of programmatic experience in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and work ethic, with the ability to be a team player.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or other child-related fields preferred.
- Experience in daycare, nannying, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, or Reggio-Emilia methods.
