About the position

The Preschool 2's Teacher at LeafSpring School at Wyndham is responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 8 children aged 2 to 2.5 years. This role involves planning, implementing, and supervising the daily program in alignment with the school's educational philosophy, focusing on age-appropriate growth and development. The position emphasizes creating a fun and caring environment for both children and staff, fostering a community-oriented atmosphere where work is seen as play.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 8 children ranging from 2 to 2 1/2 years of age.
  • Plans, implements, and supervises the class's daily program according to the philosophy of LeafSpring School.
  • Incorporates principles of age-appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans.

Requirements

  • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and work ethic - must be a team player!
  • 6+ months of programmatic experience in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required.
  • Must have completed the Virginia Preservice Training (10 hr training) or be willing to complete it prior to beginning orientation if hired.
  • Does not have scheduling restrictions between the hours of 6:45 am-6:15 pm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or other child-related fields.
  • Experience in daycare, nanny, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilio settings.
