About the position

The Malvern School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher for the Preschool classroom at The Malvern School of Montgomeryville, PA. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, providing a stable and enriching environment for both teachers and students. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and career-oriented, with a strong commitment to Early Childhood Education. The Assistant Teacher will play a crucial role in implementing a superior Early Childhood Education program that aligns with the school’s policies and philosophy. This includes maintaining a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the children, as well as fostering effective communication with parents through various channels, including in-person meetings and technology. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a child-centered educational approach while working in state-of-the-art classrooms that are professionally cleaned and well-maintained. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Assistant Teacher will have the opportunity to design creative curriculum elements, allowing for greater latitude in educational planning. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of a superior Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies and Malvern School philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the class.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, in person and through the use of technology, meeting or exceeding parent expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 2500 hours (1 year, 4 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility OR 15 relevant college credits (or CDA) and at least 1250 hours (8 months) documented experience with young children in a licensed facility.
  • Must be (or be willing to start) pursuing a CDA (Child Development Associate) OR a degree in the field.
