The Preschool Director/VPK Teacher at Good Shepherd Lutheran School is responsible for providing a strong Christian education to preschool students. This role involves managing the preschool's daily operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children from diverse backgrounds and will be committed to their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students using the ABeka curriculum and prepare lesson plans.
- Grade papers and manage the classroom effectively.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Facilitate problem-solving and encourage critical thinking skills among students.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and administration.
- Attend conferences and workshops for professional development.
- Conduct state-required testing and maintain student health and safety.
- Responsible for strategic planning and budgeting to enhance educational quality.
- Oversee daily operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee scheduling, attendance, billing, and recruiting new students.
- Participate in community outreach activities to raise awareness of the preschool.
Requirements
- Must have a Director Credential.
- Must have VPK certification.
- Prefer 5 years of experience as a preschool director.
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in early childhood or a related field.
- Must pass background check through FDLE and DCF.

- Experience with the ABeka curriculum.
