About the position
LeafSpring School at Charter Colony is seeking passionate and caring Preschool Lead and Assistant Teachers to join their team. The role involves supervising and managing a primary care group of children aged 2 to 4 years, planning and implementing daily programs, and ensuring a fun and nurturing environment for both children and staff.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 10 children, ranging from 2 years to 4 years of age.
- Plans, implements, and supervises the class's daily program according to the philosophy of LeafSpring School.
- Incorporates principles of age-appropriate growth and development in daily lesson plans.
- Must complete the Virginia Preservice Training (10-hr training) prior to the start of orientation if hired.
Requirements
- Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and work ethic - must be a team player!
- 6+ months of programmatic experience in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required.
- High School Diploma required; preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or another child-related field.
- Does not have scheduling restrictions between the hours of 6:45 am-6:15 pm.

- Experience in daycare, nanny, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilio.
