About the position

The Preschool Lead Teacher at Pueblo Del Sol Head Start is responsible for leading a classroom team to provide high-quality early education and child development services. This role involves creating a safe and enriching environment for children, fostering partnerships with families, and implementing the agency's curriculum. The lead teacher serves as the primary contact for parents and is supported by the site supervisor and education specialist. The position requires a commitment to teamwork, open communication, and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the classroom team in providing comprehensive early education and child development services.
  • Create a safe and enriching environment for children.
  • Implement the agency's curriculum and promote children's cognitive, social, health, and emotional growth.
  • Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding all services.
  • Plan lessons, document children's work, and analyze child and family data.
  • Attend professional development opportunities and support the professional growth of the team.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Possess an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field with a minimum of 24 credits in early childhood education or child development coursework.
  • One year of documented work experience with infants and toddlers or six years with preschool-aged children.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Possess a valid Arizona driver's license and excellent driving record.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
  • Two years of documented experience as a supervisor.
  • Four years of experience working in an infant toddler center-based classroom.
  • Six years of work or volunteer experience with diverse groups or with Head Start.
