About the position
Penfield Village Nursery School & Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic music teacher who loves music and is eager to instill that love in our young learners. This part-time position requires the teacher to work two days a week from September to May, aligning with Penfield's school calendar. Each music lesson lasts between 15 to 20 minutes, and students attend these lessons once a week. Classroom teachers will be present during music classes to support the learning process, ensuring a collaborative environment for the children. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for music and be comfortable singing with preschool-aged students. The role involves planning and leading engaging music activities that cater to the developmental needs of young children. The music teacher must be organized and capable of managing their time effectively to fit lessons into the designated 20-minute classes. A strong understanding of child development is essential, as is a willingness to collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance the overall learning experience for the students. While formal certification in music education is not required, candidates must possess experience and knowledge of music and singing to effectively engage and inspire the children in their care.
