About the position

Children Central is seeking a full-time Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to support our top-rated Preschool Program. This role involves assisting in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for children aged 4-5, helping them prepare for kindergarten both academically and socially. The position offers competitive wages starting at $15 per hour, with opportunities for higher pay based on experience and education. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a love of learning in young children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pre-K teacher in creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
• Prepare children for kindergarten academically and socially.
• Develop and implement a creative curriculum suitable for the Pre-K class.
• Utilize various educational techniques such as storytelling, play, and art projects.
• Observe and support each child's social development and self-esteem.
• Encourage positive interactions among children and help resolve conflicts.
• Organize and supervise nap and snack times to ensure safety.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Document daily activities and communicate with families through an app.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a preschool or early childhood setting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with young children and their parents.
• Proficiency in lesson planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Experience in classroom management and creating a nurturing learning environment.
• Familiarity with early childhood education curriculum development and best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.
