About the position

The Preschool Teacher/Bilingual Spanish position at Linkage Childcare involves the care, supervision, and management of a classroom, focusing on the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children. The role requires planning and conducting effective child development programs while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct an effective child development program to meet the needs of each child.
  • Ensure child care routines are carried out hygienically and consistently.
  • Supervise children constantly to ensure their safety.
  • Operate the classroom in compliance with child care licensing standards.
  • Create a friendly and cooperative atmosphere for children and families.
  • Provide experiences that promote individual expression through conversation, play, and creativity.
  • Ensure parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences.
  • Maintain written records to evaluate each individual child.
  • Promote parent-child bonding and relationships.
  • Greet children and parents warmly each morning.
  • Initiate daily classroom activities such as sing-a-longs and art projects.
  • Display children's creative artwork on bulletin boards.
  • Provide daily care to each child, including diapering as necessary.
  • Observe children for signs of illness or special needs and report them immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment.
  • Inspect the school site for potential safety hazards and take corrective action.
  • Participate in staff meetings and share information from workshops.

Requirements

  • Valid Teaching Certification license from the MN Dept of Ed for prekindergarten/nursery or elementary education with a kindergarten endorsement.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Experience as an assistant teacher, aide, or student intern in early childhood education.
  • CDA certification for preschool or infants and toddlers from the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition.

Nice-to-haves
