About the position

The position involves delivering high-quality Early Childhood Development services to children enrolled in the PACE Education Division. Under the supervision of the Regional Site Director and Site Lead Teacher, the role focuses on the educational, social, physical, nutritional, and psychological development of children, while also maintaining communication with parents regarding their child's progress.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the care and supervision of all enrolled PACE Education Division children.
  • Planning and implementing classroom lessons.
  • Conducting meetings and conferences with parents.
  • Coordinating activities and events for children and parents.
  • Interacting with the public and providing customer service by phone, email, and in person.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, records, and other paperwork required by the early childhood education program.
  • Ensuring proper care, safety, and supervision of groups of children for up to 7 hours per day.
  • Ensuring appropriate child/teacher ratio is always met.
  • Planning and implementing classroom lessons and activities in accordance with selected curriculums and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Conducting learning and developmental assessments of children according to timelines.
  • Conducting interior and exterior environmental safety checks to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Preparing and assisting in serving family-style meals to children.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the classroom.
  • Helping children practice good hygiene, including personal cleanliness and toileting/diapering as needed.
  • Conducting annual teacher-parent conferences and home visits.
  • Maintaining records of enrollment, attendance, and other required paperwork.
  • Attending and participating in-service trainings provided by PACE and other agencies.
  • Organizing and maintaining instructional and program supplies.
  • Participating in recruitment of children to maintain full enrollment and an active waitlist.
  • Providing direction and coaching to Teacher Assistant(s).
  • Cooperating with Site Lead Teacher, Regional Site Director, and Service Area Managers in planning and implementation of overall program.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Child Development Teacher Permit or higher.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
  • Ability to plan and implement learning experiences based on individual children's development.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and applicable state early learning and development standards.
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational, written/oral communication, and observation skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
