The Preschool Teacher at the Dan McKinney Family YMCA in La Jolla is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the Preschool Program for children ages 2-5. This role is crucial in providing an inclusive and nurturing environment that fosters the developmental needs and interests of young children. The teacher will plan, coordinate, and implement activities that are tailored to the children's creative learning and developmental stages. Effective communication with parents is essential to create positive relationships and ensure that the children's needs are met. The teacher will interact with children in a consistent and fair manner, treating them with dignity and respect in accordance with the YMCA Code of Conduct. Compliance with Community Care Licensing regulations is mandatory, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the program. In addition to supervising and ensuring the safety of children at all times, the Preschool Teacher will be responsible for changing diapers and maintaining cleanliness and health standards within the environment. General housekeeping duties and food preparation are also part of the role. The teacher will record and monitor daily activities of the children in their care, ensuring that the program aligns with the goals and policies of the YMCA.
