About The Position

The Preschool Teacher at Wilmington Christian Academy is responsible for the instruction and development of preschool students in a Christian environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Organizational skills to manage classroom activities.
  • Mature handling of sensitive issues and disciplinary matters.
  • Ability to implement the approved curriculum and adapt teaching methods as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Teach subjects as outlined in the academic manual.
  • Maintain information regarding the academic, spiritual, and social development of each student.
  • Accomplish educational goals established by the school administration.
  • Utilize instructional aids and creative teaching methods.
  • Prepare adequately to meet the goals and objectives for the assigned grade level.
  • Plan lessons using course scope and sequence and weekly lesson plans.
  • Maintain records of attendance and grades as required by the state and administration.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled chapels, faculty meetings, and in-service programs.
  • Request instructional aids and materials for classroom use.
  • Engage in professional development through reading and continuing education seminars.
  • Assist administration with non-teaching supervisory duties.
  • Create an appropriate classroom environment with visual aids.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and on campus.
  • Counsel students regarding academic and spiritual matters.
  • Report significant academic, behavioral, or spiritual concerns to the principal.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students through close supervision.
  • Attend planning meetings and parent/teacher fellowship meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and conduct private conferences regarding student progress.
  • Clean and maintain the classroom.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the principal.
