About the position
The Preschool Teacher at Red Hill Lutheran School is responsible for creating a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing educational programs that cater to the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of preschoolers, ensuring compliance with licensing and school policies. The teacher will also supervise children, maintain a clean and safe environment, and engage in activities that promote learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children.
- Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, social/emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the children in the program.
- Provide nutritious snacks and ensure adequate equipment and curriculum for age-appropriate skill building.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment and equipment.
- Provide weekly lesson plans that align with the preschool's mission and vision.
- Develop activities that introduce academic concepts through a sensory process, avoiding worksheets.
- Maintain daily/weekly skill building assessments and portfolios, ensuring they are current and up-to-date.
- Familiarize with health and safety emergency procedures.
- Supervise children at all times according to school standards and procedures.
- Provide various experiences and activities for children, including songs, games, and storytelling.
- Build children's self-esteem.
Requirements
- Mandatory minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
- Completion of Community Care Licensing requirements.
- 2 years of classroom experience.
