About the position

As a Support Teacher at Primrose School of Shawnee, you will play a vital role in fostering curiosity, creativity, and compassion in children. This position involves creating a fun and safe environment for children to explore and learn through purposeful play, while also helping them develop essential skills across various domains. You will work collaboratively with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the Balanced Learning® curriculum, ensuring that each child's social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development is nurtured.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun and safe environment for children to explore and learn.
• Build genuine relationships with each child.
• Help children improve their motor skills and grow their vocabulary.
• Work with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages creativity and exploration.
• Teach children about the world around them.

Requirements

• Passion for teaching and working with young children.
• Ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in early childhood education is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
