About the position
The Preschool Twos Assistant Teacher position at My Kids Academy involves supporting the Lead Teacher in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children. The role requires a team player who is energetic and maintains a positive attitude while supervising children and implementing lesson plans. The position is full-time and emphasizes the importance of professional development and adherence to local child care regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children at all times to maintain a secure and safe environment for play and learning.
- Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date.
- Implement and create lesson plans based on a monthly theme.
- Complete necessary classroom reports.
- Follow the center’s policies, procedures, and regulations as well as those from DCF.
Requirements
- Early childhood classroom teaching experience (desirable).
- Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Must be a team player, able to adapt to a continuously changing, fast-paced environment and prioritize the children’s needs.
- High School Diploma required.
- Staff Credential required for the Lead Teacher position.
- 45 DCF Hours required.
- CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained during job training).
