About the position

The Hospital President at CHI Health in Council Bluffs, IA, is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of hospital operations. This position requires a dynamic leader who can drive strategic initiatives across the enterprise, service lines, and physician enterprise while fostering a positive academic environment. The President will ensure the quality, safety, and overall experience of patients, physicians, and learners, establishing meaningful relationships with the community, Creighton University, and other external organizations. In this role, the President will be accountable for delivering strong financial performance and operational excellence throughout the organization. This includes safeguarding compliance with State, Federal, and CMS regulations, as well as other credentialing and regulatory organizations. The President will have the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train, and conduct performance evaluations for staff, ensuring that the hospital meets its staffing needs effectively. The President will also manage performance by setting clear goals, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and addressing any performance issues. This role involves directing all administrative and operational processes at the assigned campus, supporting the hospital's mission, vision, and core values. Additionally, the President will collaborate with other administrative leaders to enhance service line strategies and initiatives, engage with community organizations to promote public relations, and identify community needs. Overall, the Hospital President will play a crucial role in leading initiatives that assure operational effectiveness and efficiency, resource allocation, and continuous improvement in hospital services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science.
  • Master's degree in Health Administration (M.H.A.), Business Administration (M.B.A.), or Master of Science in Healthcare Administration.
  • Broad executive leadership experience within an academic health system or major teaching hospital.
