About the position
The position involves planning and designing complex manufacturing processes in an industrial plant, with full technical responsibility for independent technical projects that support manufacturing operations. The role requires evaluating production data, recommending manufacturing methods, and coordinating technical matters related to assembly and engineering changes. The position is primarily onsite and emphasizes the importance of employee growth and development within the company.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design complex manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
- Conduct independent technical projects for engineering support of manufacturing operations.
- Provide advisory support in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of manufacturing operations.
- Conceive and plan projects involving major production activities and explore product/process problems.
- Evaluate test and production data, prepare technical analysis, and recommend manufacturing methods.
- Coordinate complex technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation and engineering change notices.
- Assign work to drafters, technicians, and machine shop personnel as required.
- Provide work leadership for lower-level employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- At least 5 years of related experience.
- Expert knowledge of technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of press equipment, tooling design, and metal forming principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools for press operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize complex press operations.
- Understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
