About the position

The City of Topeka is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician (PMT) responsible for developing, performing, coordinating, and documenting preventative maintenance for all City-owned buildings and grounds. The PMT will engage in semi-skilled maintenance tasks and collaborate with skilled maintenance staff to ensure the proper functioning of various systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC units, refrigeration, boilers, and plumbing systems.
• Collect equipment data and update preventative maintenance programs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for City-owned buildings and grounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience in developing and coordinating preventative maintenance work is desired.
• Ability to obtain a universal refrigeration license; Mechanical Journeyman's license is preferred.
• Valid Class C Kansas driver's license and city-insurable driving record.
