About the position

The Prevention Coordination Specialist at Minot AFB serves as a key figure in developing and delivering integrated prevention and resilience programs tailored to the unique needs of the military community. This role focuses on addressing personal readiness and mitigating risks associated with interpersonal and self-directed violence through comprehensive training, outreach, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The specialist is responsible for leading prevention efforts, ensuring effective communication, and fostering a culture of safety and resilience within the installation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead management, implementation, and delivery of research-based activities related to primary prevention of Interpersonal and Self-Directed Violence (ISDV).
  • Develop and deliver prevention activities as part of DAF-wide integrated prevention and resilience efforts.
  • Stay updated on current research related to primary prevention and incorporate this knowledge into prevention activities.
  • Collect and consolidate data from diverse sources for program evaluation and measurement.
  • Lead installation prevention training team efforts, including mandatory integrated prevention and resilience training.
  • Collaborate with installation prevention partners on content and delivery of ongoing primary prevention training and education.
  • Identify methods to reduce training fatigue and increase engagement in prevention efforts.
  • Lead primary prevention education and training for installation leaders and supervisors.
  • Support execution of established initiatives and development of the installation Community Action Plan (CAP).
  • Communicate program implementation progress to installation Community Action Team (CAT) and leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing and delivering prevention and resilience programs.
  • Knowledge of primary prevention strategies related to interpersonal and self-directed violence.
  • Ability to analyze data and conduct program evaluations using appropriate techniques.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in training and educating others on prevention topics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense and Air Force policies regarding prevention and resilience.
  • Experience in community outreach and engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of best practices in violence prevention and intervention.

Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $86,962 to $113,047.
