About the position
The Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in the child welfare team at Brightpoint, focusing on preventing youth from entering the care of the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) and reducing the risk of further involvement. This position emphasizes stabilization-focused case management services and collaboration across programs to support families and ensure child safety, aligning with the agency's Blueprint for Impact.
Responsibilities
- Provide stabilization-focused case management services to families.
- Collaborate with various programs to ensure child safety and family support.
- Implement strategies to prevent youth from entering DCFS care.
- Engage in community outreach and support initiatives.
- Attend in-person meetings and events as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human service field.
- Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle.
