About the position

At FIS, we are looking for a Pricing and Contracts Operations Analyst who is curious, motivated, and forward-thinking. This full-time position is based in New York, New York, and is ideal for individuals with a combination of relevant work experience and education. The role involves working on complex projects that require a high level of proficiency and analysis. As an analyst, you will develop and implement solutions that require thorough research and analysis, working under general supervision with the opportunity for independent judgment. You may also coach junior staff and consult with senior peers on certain projects. Typically, this position requires four or more years of experience in production/operations support or computer operations. In this role, you will maintain scheduling systems and improve work procedures for processing environments. You will monitor applications, systems, and hardware for abnormal processing conditions and research user problems related to software systems and operations processing. Utilizing various tools and resources, you will solve problems effectively and contribute to the body of knowledge by sharing solutions and information with others. You will also coordinate testing of applications and systems, analyze changes to software systems, and train internal customers on new systems or procedures. Additionally, you will assist in defining customer problems and needs, maintain disaster recovery plans, and complete project assignments as needed. This position offers a multifaceted job with a high degree of responsibility and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains scheduling system and new/improved work procedures for processing environment.
  • Monitors applications, systems and hardware in a processing environment for abnormal processing conditions.
  • Researches and resolves user problems as well as issues and problems with software systems, operations processing and assigned processing environments.
  • Makes effective use of tools and resources to solve problems in mainframe and open systems environments.
  • Utilizes manuals, write-ups and other tools as an aid in solving problems.
  • Contacts others who are experienced in the area for problem solution ideas.
  • Contributes to the body of knowledge by adding solutions and other information that would be useful to others.
  • Follows escalation procedures to resolve processing problems and user problems in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates testing of applications, systems, processes and procedures, hardware and/or software changes.
  • Analyzes and implements changes or additions to software systems and operations procedures.
  • Trains internal customers on changes, new systems or new procedures.
  • Identifies new tools, technology or processes that improve overall processing environment or processing efficiency.
  • Assists in defining external and internal customer problems and needs, discussing expectations with customers.
  • Maintains operations support disaster recovery/business continuity plans for assigned processing environments.
  • Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of company software products required.
  • Prior Banking or Fin Tech experience required (5 or more years).
  • Knowledge of mainframe and/or open systems operating systems required.
  • Ability to effectively use production control tools and resources for mainframe and/or open system processing environments.
  • Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels of the organization or that of clients.
  • Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources.
  • Excellent problem-solving, team and time management skills.
  • Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas.
