About the position

The Pricing Manager at Dollar Tree plays a crucial role in managing and executing pricing strategies across various product categories. This position ensures pricing integrity and effectiveness while collaborating with merchandising and planning teams to meet margin expectations. The manager will oversee a team of pricing analysts and is responsible for analyzing pricing metrics, conducting audits, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day pricing activities of all Dollar Tree product categories across the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Generate reports, create spreadsheets, and present key findings to merchandising teams.
  • Provide fact-based guidance to Buyers in selecting pricing strategies that increase sales, profit, and market share.
  • Update and analyze metrics and performance reports on pricing recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve category metrics on sales, units, and margin with Merchants.
  • Audit pricing activities to ensure execution accuracy and resolve pricing issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of price tests to validate strategy success.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and manage CPI reporting across defined competitors.
  • Review Known Value Items (KVIs) for pricing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and store operations leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Mentor and train pricing analysts in job skills and career enhancement activities.
  • Manage and delegate tasks across the analyst team and provide weekly support meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of decision support experience, with specific experience in retail pricing preferred.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and general proficiency with MS Office applications (Access, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate insights effectively.
  • Experience accessing data from Micro Strategy and/or other BI Tools.
  • Experience generating reports using SQL and/or programming languages, with SAS experience being a strong plus.

  • Advanced degree in Business, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience applying qualitative and statistical methods, conducting research projects, and preparing reports.
  • Experience working with large data sets, utilizing BI tools and script languages.
  • Experience in the retail and/or pricing industry.
  • Experience presenting to a variety of audiences.
