About the position

As funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS), Bilingual PRIDE Trainers are responsible for facilitating trainings for the PRIDE Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Program to prospective, relative/fictive kin, licensed, and adoptive/sub-guardianship caregivers across Illinois through web-based, instructor-led, and hybrid learning formats for the Learning and Development Unit within the Office of Learning and Professional Development (OLDP). Bilingual PRIDE Trainers may be selected to participate in caregiver curriculum translation events as part of PRIDE's ongoing efforts to collaboratively work with IDCFS to increase the availability of Spanish language caregiver trainings in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a combination of in-person, virtual, and on-demand training based on approved DCFS caregiver curricula.
  • Adapt to varying training assignments depending on demand and facilitate training effectively in English and/or Spanish.
  • Travel for in-person trainings as required, with potential statewide travel.
  • Responsible for data entry, timely submission of required paperwork, and managing workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Review and manage training schedules to avoid conflicting assignments and monitor hours for compliance.
  • Submit payroll and travel documentation in accordance with UIUC payroll and mileage guidelines.
  • Participate in staff development activities and meetings.
  • Support ongoing growth of the team and may be assigned to individual or group projects related to training and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish languages.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a licensed Foster and/or Adoptive Parent with knowledge of child welfare practices in Illinois, or 3 years of recent experience as a child welfare professional in a public or private child welfare agency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Previous experience as a trainer.

Benefits

  • Part-time Academic Hourly position.
  • Hourly wage of $38.00 per hour while facilitating trainings and $19.00 per hour while preparing training materials.
  • Hybrid work options may be available.
