About the position

The Primary Care Assistant position at Mercy Clinic Rolla Family Medicine Float is a full-time role focused on providing essential support in a clinical setting. The role involves preparing patients for their visits, assisting with in-office testing, administering vaccines, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure effective care delivery. This position requires flexibility as it may involve floating to nearby locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including entering chief complaints and taking vital signs.
• Review patient history and allergies, and complete thorough medication reconciliation.
• Work with the Encounter Guide to address open care gaps such as fall risk and cancer screenings.
• Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood and conducting EKGs.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed per office policy.
• Collaborate with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate care plans.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• For Medical Assistant: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA).
• For LPN: Diploma in Practical Nursing and active LPN licensure.
• Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
